Special Edition: NYC

Well,  . . . it's about time. About time we got back to what it's all about. I love all the comic-based films, and televisions show (some of them) and everything else everyone has been frothing at the mouth about over the last few years, but I think more focus should be paid to it's source material. Special Edition NYC, coming up on June 14-15 will be a  comic convention which highlights the actual printed words and art: the truest visions created for the artistic medium I've loved for many (many) years.
My partner, Carl (Cee-Kay) Kent and I will be there at Booth #M7, along with family and friends. There will be new art books, comics, art prints and even original art for sale, so swing by and say hello (and spend some dough too, if you can).

I've been neglecting this blog lately, posting mostly on DeviantArt. I figure that since I'm here tonight, I'll take a moment to throw up this piece. I love Captain Marvel. Did some samples with the Captain and Billy Batson twenty years ago. I'm sure they were probably terrible, but now I wish I hadn't thrown them away. Maybe I'll draw them again for practice.

New York Comic Con 2013

Holy Crap! It's time again the New York Comic Con! Where did a whole year go so fast?
Powersmith Studios will again be there. I'll be there with new goodies from my comic BOMBSHELLS INC. Also, my cohort Carl (Cee-Kay) Kent  will be on hand with merchandise, original art, and more.  With us will be our special guest  illustrator and caricaturist  Andre' Leroy Davis. October 10th- 14th at NYC's Jacob Javits Center . . . It's the place to be.

Powersmith Studios at Bronx Heroes Comic Con @013

Check it out! Here's a real cool video of myself and my partner Carl (Cee-Kay) Kent earlier this year at the Bronx Heroes Comic Con. As always, the show was a blast. We had a great time talking to comic enthusiasts  out there, as well as doing art commissions for superhero fans. Thanks for show creator Ray Felix for having us, and to the talented Al Cayne ( for shooting, and posting this video.

Station Heroes

Since the heroes of the Station are only the supporting cast in BOMBSHELLS INC., I always had them visualized (some of them) in my head, but had never put most of them to paper. Finally I decided that I needed to put design the characters before I forgot them all. In the end, I plan to put all these drawings together to make up one big piece with all 15 (17?) in one big piece.
